Skirting the Issue - Outfit of the Day

So, I was in Myer recently paying off a layby for the most amazing faux fur coat ever (which I am yet to wear, by the way because it has been unseasonably warm in Melbourne lately!) when I noticed it was 30% for Myer one card holders, being one I wandered the racks and came upon the cutest skirt and top by Piper Woman. So, having paid off one layby I set about placing another! A couple of weeks ago I picked it up and I thought I would make a little outfit of the day with my two favourite pieces. Please excuse my hair, it was being very difficult!

Top and skirt (Piper Woman @ Myer), stirrup leggings (Target), shoes (Rubi Shoes)
The skirt has the cutest floral pattern, it's really subtle but in the most beautiful complimentary colours. It also has pockets! Add pockets to a dress or skirt and you have pretty much guaranteed that I will buy it. I have bought some of the ugliest stuff you have ever seen but I always say to myself - 'Don't worry, it has pockets!'
While shopping, I also picked up a new lipstick from Priceline, I had coupons that they had sent me for Maybelline and I chose one of the Colour Sensational lipsticks. The one I am wearing is number 420 - Coral Pop and I love it! I really love coral coloured things in general, I have a ridiculously bright coral colour from the same Maybelline collection and it's one of my favourites but I just wanted a more subtle coral for daytime and I think this colour is perfect. On the whole, I actually quite like the Maybelline Colour Sensational range, I have about 4 different colours that I use regularly and overall I think the formula is great.

Striped Perfection! - Outfit of the Day

Finally back! Sorry to all my one followers but I am finally settled and ready and raring to post! I have a tonne of stuff ready to go, expect a bit of a flood of outfit posts coming to you in the near future! I have also been thinking about making a few other kinds of posts - maybe a favourite clothing set of posts to show a few more of my pieces plus a nail polish post? I love love LOVE nail polish and have an obscene amount! Seriously, my friends and family just shake their heads now when I come home with new purchases!
Anywho - back to the post at hand.

I found this tunic online at Evans and I was unsure about it - I'm tall (5'10'') and I have big legs and I wasn't sure that this striped tunic would actually be long enough for me to wear comfortably out of the house but, it turns out, I LOVE IT. I just love it so much! I can see myself wearing the crap out of this in summer. It's lightweight, sleeved so I don't have to show my bingo wings and I love that nautical stripe kind of feeling it has. I can wear it belted with leggings, as a beach cover up and as a cute little tea dress on those blistering summer afternoons. Kind of makes me excited for summer and I am NOT a fan of the heat.

See these amazing studded loafers? See how unbelievably cool they are? Yeah, I know - awesome huh? They are from Topshop and I am so in love with them. They are the most comfy shoes plus they are mother'uckin' studded loafers! They will feature a lot in future outfits, I can already tell.
These bracelets are actually a little bit of a departure for me. I'm not religious, at all really, but lately I have become a little obsessed with buying things with crosses on them. I dunno why, but I now have three items bought in the last month.
Tunic (Evans), Leggings (K-Mart), studded loafers (Topshop)
Until next time!

Outfit of the Day - Halloween in July

This is my first EVER OOTD post! OMG! I am really nervous and excited. It's a weird feeling, I'll admit.
I have been monstorously sick for the past week so excuse the lack of make-up and hairdo. Today was the first day that I felt well enough to get out of bed and I just wanted to put on a simple little outfit that was above all - comfy! I just bought this gorgeous burnt orange coloured lace shawl from Sportsgirl in their massive sale. Originally it was $80, I managed to snag it for $25. Bargain and a half! I got another tie up cardigan for a whopping $12.50! It's a great 70s print with some colours I don't think I would normally pick out. I also love the fact that both are from a straight sized store! IN A MEDIUM! I'm normally a 22! I might have to go back and see if they have any other oversized bargains! The shawl is just so lovely, I tried to catch a little of the detail in the other photo - but I'm new to taking outfit photos and still a little embarassed to ask Mum to do it for me so this was a little experiment on camera placement and as such, I missed my feet and had to take another photo! The colours kind of remind me of classic Halloween decorations - the pumpkins and black cats. Hmm, might have to have a Halloween party this year... I do so love Halloween!

Welcome!

Hi. I'm not sure anyone is ever going to read this but I am grateful if you are. I made the decision to start blog (I do already have a tumblr but I find that to be less personal) to explore the patterns I may or may not have in my fashion choices. I want to push myself with my daily outfits - I feel I am totally falling into a rut with what I wear. Same types of outfits, lack of any discernible accessorising, boredom basically. I also want to connect with other plus size bloggers out there, as I am the only one of my friends who is plus sized, and get tips/tricks/ideas. I really hope I am able to keep this all up but I guess only time will tell. I look forward to any comments/constructive criticism you may have. I think I will keep this blog to fashion only, OOTD's and stuff like that. I look forward to taking this journey with all of you!

Thanks!
